I’m pleased to report that it’s been a busy summer and there are a number of new blog posts in queue. Here’s the first:

I’m not one to believe in fate or anything like that- but sometimes I marvel at how life brings you exactly the right opportunity at at exactly the right time. Recently I’ve had several new clients approach me about selling stock images of Hillsborough (our current hometown) and/or making new ones that capture the charm and originality of our little town. I’ve spent years believing that the best time for me to photograph a place is the first time I visit- I believed that ‘fresh eyes’ were the key to my interest. I was a little hesitant going in but ultimately found that familiarity can be an even greater asset if you use it to your advantage.

I made several hundred new images of Hillsborough over the last weekend of August that I’m proud of… and remembered why I fell in love with this little town in the first place; it’s a cultural crossroads that offers a deeper sense of community than anywhere I’ve ever lived. We have fantastic walking and hiking opportunities and an abundance of talented artists, craftsmen and entrepreneurs. Local agriculture appears to be thriving and deeply appreciated. We live in close proximity to other great NC cities and towns that support some of the best universities in the country. I can’t imagine that there’s another place anywhere quite like Hillsborough and I’m happy to call it Home.

*If you are looking for more shots of Hillsborough for commercial or personal use please feel free to contact me.

  1. I love the photos. They should also hire you for their PR campaign. You write about the town from the heart.

  2. On a tablet, so this will be brief. Beautiful stuff man. Chamber of commerce better open purse strings for lots more of those shots.
